Metaxu is the artistic union between interdisciplinary thinkers Katheryn Brock and Daniel Beers. Inspired by the terminology of the twentieth century mystic Simone Weil, Metaxu engages with liminal space, subjectivity, and intimations of redemption. Katheryn and Daniel find deep communion in the threshold between philosophy and art. Metaxu facilitates works based in religious tradition, linguistics, and installation processes. With a shared love for dialogue and education, Daniel and Katheryn investigate experiences which open spaces of contemplation, empathy, and awareness for the viewer.

The world is the closed door. It is a barrier. And at the same time it is the way through. Two prisoners whose cells adjoin communicate with each other by knocking on the wall. The wall is the thing which separates them but it is also their means of communication. … Every separation is a link.
